There's 0 chance Eichel gets traded to Boston, especially for that offer

I would not say zero. Oddsmakers have them in the top 5 for potential landing spots.

But it won’t be that. More likely replace Coyle with Carlo, add 22nd 1st Buffalo adds Colin Miller.

Final deal Debrusk/Carlo/Studnicka/1st/1st for Eichel/Miller.

Don’t think Buffalo takes it still, but closer to realistic offer.

Oddsmakers have it in the top 5 because that's Eichel hometown team. But there's no way Buffalo would trade Eichel to their division rivals. And the Bruins don't have the assets they're willing to give up for Eichel. The only way Eichel gets traded to Boston is for an overpayment which won't happen

That is fan logic. Front offices don’t think like that. Didn’t you just trade KP in division? If it makes your team better you do it, simple. What your competitors do is out of your control. Sure all things being equal they’d take an offer outside of the division. The idea that Boston does not have the assets is also a false narrative. They don’t have a top 15 pick or a high end center prospect…true. Does not mean that is an absolute must to have one or no deal.

Palmieri and Zajac had M-NTC and NTC so it limited the options. Eichel doesn't have either. Palmieri and Zajac both have 1 year left. Eichel is signed long term. Trading Palmieri and Zajac in the division didn't hurt the Devils, but it would hurt the Sabres versing him 5 times a year for the next 5+ years. Why would the Sabres trade Eichel to a team without a top 15 pick or a high end prospect? It doesn't make their team better or their future better. There are plenty of teams willing to give more for Eichel

When the "centerpiece" of this deal is Debrusk, uh yeah u kinda do need either a high end center prospect or top 15 1st

And if KP and TZ re-up with Isles? Then what? Eichel’s NMC kicks in next year, if they don’t trade him now they will be limited later.

What happens if Eichel does not come back healthy and underperforms or worse gets hurt and barely plays. They have weakened Boston significantly. They also limit Boston’s ability to spend. With Mac/Bergey and others coming due the following year they have put a financial strain on Boston. Not to mention that Buffalo will not likely be competitive for the first couple years Eichel is in Boston either so worrying about matching up against him is pointless.

I don’t think that he ends up in Boston for a number of reasons. Buffalo completely unwilling to trade within division or Boston not being able to cone up with a package that works are not those reasons though. It’s just false narrative. 🤷🏻‍♂️

30 year old, 6 goal Charlie Coyle, 5 goal DeBrusk and a late 1st. This, no. Idk if Boston has what it takes.

Doesnt matter, Boston may have the assets, but the majority of those assets Boston wont give up. (Even though they should start to sell off their old core in a purely analyitcal world instead of hanging on to nostalgia). The Bruins are devoid of interesting forward prospects, even Studnicka is kinda meh

If Palmieri and Zajac resign, it doesn't hurt the Devils much. Palmieri is 30 and Zajac is 36. Palmieri has 4-5 years left while Zajac has 1-2. By the time the Devils start contending, Zajac will be retired and Palmieri will be near the end of his career. Eichel is 24 and is under contract for the next 5 years. After his contract ends, it's likely he will resign with his hometown team. 10+ years of Eichel will hurt the Sabres more than 5 years of Zajac and Palmieri will hurt the Devils

I do agree with the last part though
