Yeah he might because he'll get to play in Toronto's loaded top 6, but that won't make him a better or more valuable player than Larkin
or because robertson is that good. what's larkin's excuse mantha/vrana, bertuzzi, fabri, zadina not good enough for him? is he someone who needs to be carried. why would the leafs want to give up that bounty for a passenger.

Ok and in those same 2 years Toronto will still be trying to win a playoff series.
and the wings will still be bottom feeders.

‘Could’ is the key word in your sentence. Sure Larkin has been inconsistent since joining the league, but a proven NHLer will almost always have more value than an unproven prospect of the similar caliber. Plus, go take a look at Detroit’s center depth. Value for value the trade isn’t terrible (if it was me I still wouldn’t do it), but we are not trading our top Center who would be a great second line center on most of the winning teams.
inconsistent and regressing. sure robertson's not a sure thing but i'd rather gamble on him, a bunch of picks, and $6m in cap space over larkin. no thanks to larkin, i'd rather avoid him all together. not to mention the leafs don't need him. he'd be a 3c here.

In 2 years Robertson could also be an NHL/AHL tweener
in 2 years larkin could be matt duchene 2.0. thanks, but no thanks.
