Habs decline, Howden is not what we need

No one needs Howden really.

That Ducks trade is really bad for the Rangers.

Sabres trade could work.

Nobody will trade away a 2nd for Howden.

The Howden trade is really a fairly early third for one of the last four picks in the second round. So moving up 10 or 12 spots.
I don't know what they can get for Strome because of his salary with the flat cap. I'm being ultra conservative here.

Howden has mostly regressed, year after year. Even while getting a 3rd back, it isn't worth it for the acquiring team. Maybe a 5th or 6th, at this rate.

Strome is bordering on 1st Round Pick conversation. He silenced the naysayers who said he only benefits from Panarin. His salary is pretty affordable for 1 year, even in a Flat Cap Season. And the Rangers have plenty of Cap space to help take back money in some way to facilitate a deal.
