  1. Eichel, Jack
Détails additionnels:
It's the same trade as the one from my ACGM post back on February 26th with a few minor differences:

https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2249600

There are a few minor differences however:

1. Matt Murray is in this trade instead of Nick Paul.

2. Logan Brown is now in need of a new contract.

3a. We now know the value of the 1st round pick.

3b. Back on February 26th, there was no lottery protection on the 1st round pick and we didn't know what would become of it until now.

This is a trade for Eichel I would 100% support.

Even if Eichel goes through with the surgery and ruined his playing career because of it.

The pieces that Buffalo gets back addresses all 3 positions in the game of hockey: forward, defence, goaltending.

If other teams stop calling the Sabres about Eichel, then this is the best it's going to get unfortunately.

If thats your opinion then youre out, an MMA fighter got it and was back fighting within 6 months, blowing it out of proportion isnt getting you Eichel for cheaper, its knocking you out of contention

What if Eichel gets that surgery done before the trade happens and it ends his playing career? frown

Don't you think Tierney would be an upgrade over Turris?

He is not going to get the surgery. There is no doctor he has seen that supports him getting the surgery. Both the team doctors and the second opinion he got outside the organization agree that surgery is unnecessary and The best course of action is the rehab he is already doing. If he does get traded there is still no team in the NHL dumb enough not to consult their own medical staff and determine that surgery is not necessary.

Which right shot centre in the NHL do you see the Oilers acquiring this offseason?

There is a number of UFA veteran right shot centres available they could look at adding on 1 yr value contracts having dug deep enough into centres they might target via trade to be honest with you, just know it’s got to be a right shot centre

Since this is a post about Eichel and Eichel is a centre with a right shot ...

What's the maximum the Oilers should pay in a trade for Eichel? smile

Shane Pinto, Erik Brannstrom, 2021 1st round pick for Jack Eichel is the most I would do as Ottawa. Thats a potential top pairing Dman, 1C, and a 10th overall pick.

Sabres fans are going to be pretty disappointed in the haul for Eichel if they think theyre gonna get Stutzle ++

Nothing
I’m a GM that would steer clear of him, yes he has talent but for me lots of questions marks surround him not just around his health, his heart and leadership come into question, is he part of the problem in buffalo, is he one of the leaders in that room that has accepted or contributed to the losing mentality they have, just to many question marks for me and his cap hit doesn’t work for the oilers.

I'm betting that once Eichel is on a different team like Ottawa, he'll sing a different tune and go for the team-recommended recovery plan.

The oilers need a lot of things lol, their bottom six sucks in general. Insisting that the 3C you bring in be right handed isn’t the play when centres are always tough to find. And like, there isn’t really many right shot centres available in free agency either. Pretty much the only right shot C under the age of 35 on the open market that they’d have interest in is Derek Stepan. Bozak is the only veteran I’d even consider for Edmonton on a 1 year deal, because he can likely be had for 1.5mil or less. Everyone else is either mediocre (e.g. Nash, Bjugstad, Glendening) or would rather stay on their current team (e.g. Zajac, Krejci, Getzlaf).

Didn’t say it needed to be a third line centre just a right handed centre that’s good in the dot could easily be a 4th line centre

Bet is the right word, but you're paying short odds money on a longshot bet, that still only pays the short odds payout

If this injury is that worrisome to a GM than he shouldn't even be inquiring about Eichel...Adams isn't selling on the cheap. According to Darren Dreger yesterday he feels that LA will circle back on Eichel.

My opinion is that Eichel and his agent are just playing a game to get him traded. No different than ROR saying he lost his love for the game. They make the Sabres look bad (ok that's a funny statement) and the Pegulas tell their GM get rid of him at all costs. Plain and simple Eichel wants out but the Sabres have control so the best way out is to cause controversy
