Description
That would be a good offseason for the habs! Giving Byron to NJ to get cap space to sign UFA like Danault and Armia. I would keep Drouin in MTL but I'm pretty sure that he requested a trade so we offer him to Kraken where he can have a fresh start and for Seattle, Drouin is a good gamble, because he is a very talented player that can live up to his contract. If not, there is only two years left on his contract after this year. We add a 3rd pick and the rights to Charles Hudon for this favor, but Drouin could really comeback and be a really good top six player for Seattle. For the Byron trade, we give our first pick of this year and a 4rd for taking Byron. We give a good return even if Byron is a good player. Definitely not deserving 3.4, but he could be a good leader in a young NJ team that need players with experience. Finally, the signing of Brandon Saad. Colorado will probably not have enough space to sign him next year, because of Grubauer and Makar. So he could sign a contract with Montreal, because we need a left winger that can play with Kotkaniemi. I think this signature would be a good fit for both parties.

Drouin wouldn’t cost any assets. If he is left unprotected, Seattle will draft him
Moving Byron to keep Armia and get Lewis at the price of losing a 1st round pick is bad assets management
Armia have a good playoff run, but he is too inconsistent
Rather keep that 1st round pick and play Byron on the 4LW and Perry 4RW
Don’t sign Demers, Kulak is better and Fleury needs to make the 23 man roster, you CAN’T send him back to Laval without him going through waivers
I would like Saad, but with Suzuki and Caufield
Toffoli with KK and Anderson

I dont feel that we are really giving huge asset here, our first pick will be very low this year and with the good prospects bank that we have, I am more than comfortable to give this 1st pick. For Drouin, maybe your right, but with the good performance of Edmundson and Chariot in the Playoff and the solid play of Allen in the regular season, im not sure if Drouin will be the one taken. Lewis is fourth liner that can play important minutes defensively. Id rather have Byron than Armia, but we will have to get rid of him soon or later so why not now? Plus, his contract is bad. For Demers, he is responsible defensively but maybe Kulak is better, but I would like to see a right handed player to play with Romanov, maybe it could be Fleury but him and Romanov are both young so I don't think its an alternative.

Throwing a 1st round pick like that doesn’t make senses
We need to draft a RHD with this 1st round pick
Why not trade Byron now ? Because more he has years, more expensive to dump he will be. I rather just buy him out next year if needed. Chiarot Edmundson, come on, are you only watching the Habs ? There’s gonna be 10+ better LHD available for Vegas and younger than these 2. For goaltending, Khudobin Holtby Hill Vanecek, again between Drouin and Allen, they’ll take Drouin any day over Allen. If Drouin is protected, it will be Allen. Lewis isn’t good, he only been good against us this year, same for Devon Shore at EDM, he only played good against us, doesn’t mean he is good for 82 games.

I really don't think there is that much LHD available for Seattle for the Expansion. If Drouin is protected like u said and goalies like Khudobin, Holtby, Hill, Vanecek are available, why take Allen? Chariot and Edmundson are not garbage they would be really good for Seattle. But we never know, maybe a trade will change everything. For Lewis he wouldn't be playing 82 games, he would be an extra man with experienced that can be good on your fourth lines for a couple games, id rather healthy scratch an old player like him than a young player that could be playing big minutes in Laval. I put Lewis but it could be any player like him for a million or less.

I really don’t see the point in moving Byron and certainly not at the cost of a 1st round pick. His contract isn’t THAT bad. It’s 3.4M for 2 more years and it’s not like he is useless.

I’d rather just let him play it out, and then maybe trade him next offseason where it would cost a lot less. We might need to next season in order to resign Suzuki. Hopefully he puts a good season together and it won’t cost us anything to get rid of him. The much more important off-season move in my opinion is getting rid of Drouin. Ideally Seattle takes him. Clearly we are fine without him, I hope he’s okay, but it hasn’t worked out for him in Montreal. Give his money to Saad who I really like
