22.5M in cap space, should be around 16-18M after all the RFAs are signed (Comtois, Lundestrom, Jones, Steel, Mahura) No reason to trade that much to lose a valuable (albeit overpaid) leader like Henrique, especially that steep of a cost, we learned our lesson with Theodore

It's not really a trade in full. McDonagh is their choice, which TB leads them to do via compensation of Raddysh and 2nd, and Johnson is dumped with a first.

Palat and Killer are more important parts to TB core, and long term speaking having a $7M dollar 3rd pair LD just doesn't seem worth it.

Tampa needs to clear $10M+ of cap. This way they clear $13M, and also create some future cap room as well.

Henrique compensation is maybe a long shot, but honestly Gardiner sucks and it'll cost them to move the guy as Canes have loads of interesting options to pick from.

It's a fair argument, but as I said it's a long shot. The compensation of low first is certainly enough to give FLA the rights to dictating their pick, no questions asked.

Anything lower than that, and I'd keep my choice. Assets like Vatrano, Acciari, Marchment, Nutivaara, Forsling etc could very well be left available, and I don't see FLA wanting to break their core.
