Danault rejected a contract that was 5x5M at the beginning of the season, so I think you would at least need to offer him the fifth year or increases the AAV so that it would match 25M

Leafs sign Hyman if that's all he wants. 4 years of term is very team friendly.

If he wants 6+ years of term at even 5M+ I'd let him walk.

Danault refused 5x5 from Montreal. Why in the world would he take 1M less per year and have to go to Edmonton (one of the least desirable cities to live in the NHL) The city alone is bottom 5 in the league

Thats the report, if I remember correctly neither him or his agent denied the rumor so I would assume there was some truth to it. Personally I wouldn't give him more than 4.5M but Im sure some team will give him 6M
