that’s barely above league min, I’m sure they’ll make that fit and they can be 10% over for the summer. At least go up to 2.18mil to make it a little more difficult, he’s still a steal for a 3rd

Any team can afford $1.4M, so I think you'd be far better off giving Tampa a 4th and then signing Foote for $1.1M.

That really makes no sense for Foote to sign that offer sheet, and if he did, no sense for Tampa not to match. 1.5m contracts aren't a problem with Tampa. Getting rid of two 5m contracts such as Palat, Killorn, Johnson, or Gourde is their issue.

Buying LTIR contracts doesn't save Tampa space. Obtaining Gaborik last summer did not create cap space for Tampa. Trading Coburn and Paquette to Ottawa saved cap space.

The plan is already set, Tbay will have Vasei have a season ending surgery in the off season and place his cap on LTIR and use him just for the playoffs like this year's scam with Kuch. They can sign Mike Smith, who might be cheap and good enough to get them into the playoffs, so Vasei can return for the 3peat.
