they shouldn't bring back either - palmieri has been incredible during this run. It was expected btw, regression the mean was always going to happen. I give it a year before palmieri turns into Andrew Ladd 2.0. His style of play does not age well.

Also Leddy is a terrible defenseman , that's who the isles should be getting rid of.

You must have hated the Lee deal as much as I did. Palms can at least shoot the puck though - I think maybe the last year of a 4 year contract will look bad, but we'll have about 4 other ones that are bad at that point anyway. It's more about the next 2 years where we have Barzy and Pulock on bridge deals, Mayfield on his contract and Wahlstrom and Dobson on ELC

I hated the Lee deal at the time, but the work he did last summer to turn back the clock and become a more mobile player was great. He was an elite offensive player before his injury. The isles can't keep giving out contracts that are untradeable the minute they are signed. Palmieri looks exactly like Ladd did before he signed his deal. He has 1 year left before he really falls off a cliff for good.

Also why are we giving up Eberle for nothing? I guess being top 10 in 5v5 goals means nothing lol .

Wings decline, not eating 11 million in cap and 8 million in real dollars for a 1st a year away. It will cost more as the cap is stagnant and revenues are down.

Palms will be fine in 4 years, not at an AAV of 6 million though. If style of play had anything to do a with a players ability to produce at 34 Marchand should have crapped out 2 years ago.

I agree Leddy is terrible defensively but I don't see them able to replace him on the second pair, even with free agency

kulikov, koekkek, oleksiak are all better than leddy overall
