Love the ideas for additions but I’ll this again stay away from Ullmark. Their goalie coach is the same one in Pittsburgh they had in 2016-17 on their 2 cup runs. He was credited with building Matt Murray and the second he left Murray started to regress. I’m afraid of that with Ullmark.

I don’t know how much stock to take with Johnston’s comments. Hard to add a big name via trade without moving one of the core 4. Potentially if they move Rielly, he could be the trade piece that brings something in but they better have a good FA option to back fill him. Dvorak does make the most sense to me. If Dubas could package Kerfoot with a couple of prospects to get him that would be amazing. Dvorak’s contract is backloaded and could be a reason why a cash strapped team like ARI would move him.

Nosek would be a great add

It’s possible especially to the less wealthy teams. One in speculation is Dvorak because he’s owed 5 million in hard cash next year and with an owner who ain’t the wealthiest the possibilities is endless.

Also we have a pretty good prospect pool especially for not drafting in the top 10 the last 5 years.

This might get some eyerolls due to the lack of desire to bring in more old guys after the underwhelming play of Thornton and Simmonds , but I'd be interested in Eric Staal if he could be had for cheap. Their bottom six severely lacks in terms of guys who can put the puck in the net, and though Staal has had a miserable 2021, his previous 4 season goal totals are 19 (in 66 games), 22, 42, 28. Could be a value signing thanks to his rough year.

Yeah I can see that. I can also see him staying with NYI on a discount, but if Lou thinks we should let him go (which I'd agree with even though it'd be sad), this is the type of contract he'll want.

Lou legitimately can’t afford to bring him back next season. They have 6 million in cap space to Sorokin, Beauviller, Peelch and more. 6 million is only Sorolin and Peelch.

Nosek is sneaky good considering his production and likely cost. Only issue is injuries, but otherwise he's be a good pickup for cheap.

If we trade Varlamov and lose Leddy in Expansion, that's another $10.5M in cap space to play with. There's also the possibility of Lou working some magic and sending Ladd to Robidas Island, which could add another $5.5M. They'll be fine.
