Edmonton yes
Montreal yes

What’s the point for LA? Drouin isn’t getting them anywhere and their losing out on the better prospect. They’re no where near contending and Lysell, mctavish eklund etc... is way more valuable to them than drouin. They could easily find a drouin somewhere for next to nothing while keeping that good prospect

My logic behind this trade is based on the rumors that LA would like to acquire multiple top 6 wingers in order to compete for a playoff spot next year. With this trade, they get Drouin (potential 60 pts+ guy), 19th OA (with which they could draft a guy like Lambos or Ceulemans) and another late first. Thats a lot to give to move down 10 spots in a draft where many solid players will go later in the first round and in the second as well.

If those rumours are true then it makes some sense. Move down 10 spots while getting that player you want. My only point was why not keep 8 and sign a guy like Hoffman as an example. It’s a weak draft but there will be some strong players at 8

But for mtl I’d love to get pick 8. Lysell, mctavish, Johnson or maybe even eklund or possibly hughes(even though we have a bunch of lefties now and coming)

Yeah, and I guess the great relationship between Bergevin and Clarke could really help completing such deal. My target would be either Eklund or McTavish.

For sure, but wouldn’t mind Lysell, Johnson or hughes if those two were gone

Kings decline. They are better off with the 8th oa. There are going to better options for the Kings.

In this scenario, MTL would need to accept the albatros contract of Neal which is totally not worth it. Having someone that does not make your line up eating 5.75m for 2 years can't be the plan of Bergevin

I think everything hinges on what is revealed about Drouin's departure from the Habs. If he is somehow physically or mentally disabled enough to miss the entire playoffs, it would be reckless mismanagement for the LAK to risk this. If, however, we find out that Drouin simply told Marc Bergevin and DD that he wants out of the pressure cooker in Montreal and asked for a trade — and the Habs are sitting him because they have already negotiated something decent with, say, Seattle — it could make sense. L.A. is closer to being competitive than a lot of people give it credit for being.

I think a 1st is probably market value or even under market value to take Neal but I think Holland really values his firsts and is more likely to buyout and keep the pick.

Kings wouldn't want that headache either.

Fair enough, though I am not sure he's a headache. He's really much more of a heartache because he leaves you wanting more. He's immensely talented, but things never quite seemed to click easily. When he's on, he's awesome. When he gets up inside his head, he's his own worst enemy. He never hurt the Habs, but he just was never fully there when they needed him most. As I said, heartache.
