So you think the Habs will give you a 2nd and a 4th and Kulak to take Byron? It's not the worst offer today, but I doubt they'd do it.

Not sure where this narrative that MTL is paying to get rid of those players is coming from? (Other than from random Habs fans moving them so they can sign every big name UFA on the market in return rolling eyes )

Its not like the Habs need cap space to resign a big name RFA or anything. I mean if you could confirm Habs will land Dougie Hamilton and need the extra cap space, then by all means but that aint happening so why are the Habs doing this? I get the logic but Habs aren't the team to be biting here. It usually requires the player they're losing to be pretty much useless which is clearly not the case. Both are mainstays in the Habs lineup...

I've seen lots of Habs fans propose this. Is switching it to the Tampa 2nd better?

Not really cause the Habs fans you see posting these so called "cap dumps" are the Fairweather fans that don't see the value in depth players. All they care about is building a team that can win on NHL21 not a team built for the grind of the playoffs.

I could see paying a price to move Byron's contract, but it wouldn't be both Kulak and picks. Maybe one or other. That's a lot to give up for a player who will be a roster player.

Yeah as I said, the same Habs fans who trade a bunch of players like Byron to make extra space to sign Hamilton, Landeskog and Nugent Hopkins......... Its not really cause Byron sucks, its because their trying to add star UFA's.

Barring one of those players signing as a free agent this offseason, there is no reason to dump Byron or Kulak with picks for nothing back, we cap space for everyone and extra to sign some depth. Both guys are literally in the starting rosters and much better than their perceived value on here. Kulak for sure nets a draft pick in return and if the Habs retain on Byron Im sure a team would trade for him. He's a good player, just over paid. Similar to Tyler Johnson in TB playing the 4th line......
