Description
People will say that Sean will block a trade to Buffalo but I don’t think so. He grew up an hour outside of Buffalo and still spends summers near Toronto and I think it would be refreshing to be near home. As for the Buffalo trade I think it’s near 1 for 1 value so a prospect is added then a cost controlled Dman is acquired for a 2nd round pick essentially. Rakell most likely is not apart of the ducks future since he is aging and only has one year left so they get a 2nd + dube and we add a third for the salary retention. Then Ryan gets selected because he’s from the Washington area. Lastly we bring Rittich back because he knows he’s not good enough to start and he would be fine playing 17-25 games next year as a backup then can leave to go start after this year.

Honestly that’s fine, in this I just needed a 4th line center that can kill penalties. Don’t want to give up more than a 4th and the UFA options aren’t great.

They shouldn’t be. Monahan has struggled these past 2 seasons.

Monahan has struggled but at the same time Reinhart is due for regression. He had a 19.2% chance of scoring when he shoots and he’s never been known as an elite goal scorer by any means. Monahan was 10% when traditionally he should be at 13.5% meaning he should bounce back to around a 25-35 goal pace if he’s healthy. Monahan also played with right wings like Brett ritche, josh Levio and domonik Simon the whole year where Reinhart was surrounded by better options.

Either way the sabres are in total rebuild mode so Monahan wouldn’t make a lot of sense. They will probably get forward prospects and draft picks.

one of the worst trades for reinhart I've seen.

Adding in jokiharju is soo confusing
