That Edmonton deal is terrible for Buffalo. Kassian is worth less than any of the pieces going the other way, he’s a net negative even with some retention. Bear is a nice player, but I wouldn’t give up more than Boston’s second round pick to get him.

Deal is bad for Buffalo? Gotta be kidding first of all kass had a down year but doesn’t have negative value. Most you’d pay is a late second for bear? Lol well your never gunna get bear then.

Agh I just wish Samuelsson was a righty. Still something the Blues might entertain, depending on what other offers come in.

Ryan Johnson played right side as a left shot but I think his value is quite a step up on Samuelsson.

Thompson is a better player than Kassian, and he costs half as much. I don’t really get what you’re going for here. Bear was decent offensively but suspect defensively for Edmonton, Buffalo doesn’t need more of that.

He’s a $3 million 4th liner. He’s not worth much. Bear is a decent player, but Buffalo doesn’t need another offensive defenseman who can’t play defense.

Kassian a fourth liner? Hahah. I’m sorry, but he’s a third liner. He gets a average of 20 points if he plays with good player, he will protect your players, is fast, is good at both ends of the ice. A lot of teams out there need a guy like Kassian including Buffalo.

I have to disagree. Tage Thompson is a third liner. He has some offensive upside and scored 4 times as many goals as Kassian last year. Kassian would be a fourth liner where ever Edmonton would send him next. Assuming anyone will take that contract off your hands. He’s worth more than Kyle Okposo, but that’s because because he costs only half as much while providing no offense.

Again in my opinion, this is false. Kassian is a third liner and I explained it from my points. He is way better than Thompson, and Okposo in my opinion.

Kassian‘s best season was playing on a line with Connor McDavid, and why wouldn’t it be? I am pretty sure you could put on a pair of skates and the score points playing with Connor McDavid. His actual capability without superstars garnering all the attention is considerably less. Also, with his contract and the season he just had, I think you know his value couldn’t be much lower. Thompson is still young, and finally appears to be turning the corner. Buffalo believes he can still be a 20 goal scorer. Kassian would be lucky to score 10, and he’s not getting younger or faster. Thompson also costs less than half as much.

    What's wrong with it?

Trying to keep it realistic as well.

    Well for starters....
if you’re trying to keep it “realistic” then why are Eichel & Reinhart & Risto still here?

And even if your version of “ideal” somehow keeps them all....
U barely added anything that’s gonna make us better
A couple 2nd pair defensemen & 1 overpaid depth forward doesn’t come close to the definition of “ideal” imo
For that.... i think u need to aim much higher

How does Dunn to Detroit for RHD Troy Stetcher and 2nd round pick sound?

Detroit already has RHD Hronek and will add top prospect RHD Moritz Seider; thereby, pushing Stetcher to the 3rd line and pushing 22 year old Gustav Lindström out of the lineup which doesn't make sense for where Detroit is at in the rebuild.

Stecher is not really of much interest.

Don’t see any reason for oilers to do it. 2 players off the roster to bring in one realistically and that’s kinda debatable as Thompson would be battling khaira for 4c role khaira is big part of a good pk. Moving kass means need to replace his roster spot that’s going to cost money not really saving enough to do anything significant enough to justify including bear. Perhaps if switch kass out for Neal who is doubtful to have a spot and avoid buyout and open enough cap to make a significant move might be more attractive to Edmonton.
