Axel Jonsson-Fjällby a signé un contrat de 2 ans d'une valeur de 1 500 000 $ avec les Capitals de Washington, le 7 juin 2021. Le contrat comporte un cap hit de 750 000 $.
YaY!!! ill sleep well knowing he's an upgraded version of Hags that we will likely trade to Vegas for a 5th and have him become a top 6 player that will score 40 points a year

I remember when people were shocked that Chandler Stephenson was worth a draft pick at all back when Vegas traded for him. Vegas then locked him up to a bargain 4 year extension that offseason before people figured out what happened.
Very underrated prospect here. He put up very promising totals in the AHL this season, and I could see him making his NHL debut as soon as next season. And yet another prospect with an outstanding name!

Yeah .. Capitals love to sign aging Vets like Hag to block the road of upcoming talent that are equal to or better.... Dillon ...Fehérváry. Jonsson-Fjällby ...Hagelin. Panik ... Boyd. Chara ...Siegenthaler. Mantha + the world Vrana... god i hate their asset management

There was a cap component to the Mantha deal, so I can't fault them for giving up the assets for cap certainty. Also, TBF, veterans are usually going to be better at team-oriented hockey than the young guys...usually. But there needs to be a good balance of youth and veterans, and I sometimes think that Washington doesn't leave enough spots open for young guys to (potentially) insert themselves.

my issue is that you need to play them or trade them. they wait till they have no value then trade them ...i would love to see them add waymore youth bc if it comes down to Dillon turning it over in OT or Fehérváry id rather the rookie do it OR have ALexeyev make the Schultz mistake thats how they grow. at this point Washington is sooooo old

Age isn't an issue if the players are good, and I think Dillon and Schultz are good players. Honestly, the biggest mistake that the Caps have made has little to do with personnel. They really should've given Trotz the Brinks truck. The Isles aren't exactly a mecca for prospects and young players, either, but they'll likely contend for years to come because they were willing to give the big bucks for the best coach in the NHL.

Yeah, I think tonight just shows where the true mistake was made in Washington. Conglaturations, Ted Leonsis!
