Stralman for Ladd makes little to no sense for the Cats...Stralman's contract ends just at the same time that the team needs to re-sign Barkov.

Eh, Robertson doesn't really need a change of scenery. Was great in his D+1 year in the OHL, looked good in limited NHL action, but the AHL pandemic season plus injuries have set him back a bit. I think the Leafs are fine for now... so are the Panthers honestly. Denisenko has looked solid in limited AHL and NHL time and he's just 21, give it another year or 2.

This is officially the first time I have seen an offer for Christoph Bertschy.
But NJ Devils no longer owns the rights to him.

Yup Isles pounce on this. This isn't a bad deal for Florida though if they believe Ladd can be a bottom-6 forward and provide veteran leadership.

It handcuffs them next offseason when they need to re-sign Barkov, especially since you could definitely argue that the Duclair deal is a discount, and Bennett probably only signs that as a 1 year deal.

Florida looked great this year and that series against the lighting was great. But as a fan from the outside, all I could think about yesterday was Florida and the expansion draft. I have legitimately thought about it once a month since LV came into the league.

It's not that Robertson was bad this year, it was that he barely played. He got his leg broken on his first shift of the season. Then the leafs had so much depth that the time he recovered and got a shot to play was right before the playoffs. He played well in the 3 games he got in. Then in the last AHL game, he broke a bone again!

But a very interesting deal...
