Just realized Don Cherry must be jumping for joy with the Ritchie signing lul

Remember when he was preaching Ritchie was better than Nylander and that the leafs should draft him. Dodged a bullet there

But hey at least both are Leafs now so no harm no foul

If the Flames were to offersheet someone, who should they attempt to? I am thinking Svechnikov or Pettersson.

Pettersson you aren’t getting, so you’d just be screwing over Vancouver, which is a viable option.

So we all know Evander Kane has gambling problems but his wife alledges that he bets on Sharks games which would be probably illegal as it’s a conflict of interest

What you guys' opinion on the Panthers? They shipped out Stralman, got Sam Rienhart for a steal (for now), Owen Tippett took a step last season, Lundell is probably playing in the lineup next season, and Knight seems like the real deal. Imo they could be the top team in the division. If it wasn't for unstable goaltending, they could've beaten the lightning, they exposed Vasilevsky better than any other team in the playoffs. Some predictions online have Tampa, Boston and Toronto as the top 3 in the Atlantic tho. What are the question marks, is it the goaltending? Or are people thinking last year was a one off?

Really surprised he went to Carolina. Montreal to me was the team that made the most sense as he could slot in between 2c and 3c

Imo the biggest factor in FLA's success last year was the fact they had an insane chemistry in team. I mean who would've predicted that Barkov and Verhaeghe would form an absolutely lethal duo before the season started? If they can keep the same upward momentum going and make it without bad injuries (Ekblad's injury last year was a crying shame) they could go very, very far. And the team hasn't really weakened from last year, minus Wennberg.

Not to understate the grave actions what happened in that Blackhawks team but it probably is easier for NHL to investigate this Kane matter as his alleged actions are very recent, but the sh*t that happened in Chicago are from a decade ago so the data they have is most likely much more limited.

Well said. Obviously the Blackhawks situation is immeasurably worse and absolutely horrifying (the piece of s--- and monster who did it will burn in hell for eternity), but there's not much the league can do about it now when it happened so long ago.

Mainly the fact that their goaltending was hard carried by Driedger last year, who is now gone, leaving 10 million dollars of dogsh*t and a rookie to man the crease. Very questionable. The other factor is of course that they relied on some guys having breakout/career years. Verhaeghe and Marchment for example were both 4th liners at best until they stuck them on Barkov’s wing, and Bennett had a PDO of 108 after the trade, which essentially means he had crazy puck luck, and that will almost definitely regress (he was only a 3rd liner in Calgary and Florida paid him like they expect him to be their 2C moving forward). If those guys build on last year they’ll be in good shape, but if they regress things could get dicy, their guaranteed depth isn’t exactly that strong (Barkov, Huberdeau, Reinhart you know what you’ve got, the rest are rookies, streaky [Duke], or the breakout guys I mentioned above).

He stopped playing hockey last year because he wanted to be with his family in the US. He’s shown he’d rather retire than live in Canada.

So if the Kane stuff is true, which it almost certainly is, (This would be way too complicated a situation for his wife to make up.) then he’s just a downright terrible person. I hope that his wife and child can make it out ok and are able to get their life in order and thrive without him. And Evander is absolutely never playing hockey again. Now the only question is how much jail time is involved.

F for Kane's career

I know it has also been brought up but why can’t we have a statement like this for Chicago? Or because it’s a team and they give you money you don’t care?

If I had to guess this is one of the main reasons. Plus what happened in CHI is something that is dealt by actual authorities, it wouldn't look good for the league if they made premature comments about it.

Kane's actions are reprehensible against the league itself which results in much more vocal reactions by the league itself.

Sabres have a chance at first in 2022 and 2023 which is great and they can't drop out of the top 3 if they end up in the bottom in 2022...

So say the sabres got 1-1 or 2-1 or 1-2 they will be set for a long time.

McDavid - Wright
Eichel - Lambert
Stroke - Savoie (hopefully he will be what they expected strome 2 be)

Bedard - Matthews
Michkov - Laine (the one we saw everyonce in a while that we wondered would be the next Ovi).

This is how I view the players coming in, obviously I don't hope Savoie turns out to be like Strome I'd hope he would become Barzal, or Aho... Same with Michkov I'd hope he could be one what we thought Laine could be after his rookie year.

Imagine this sabres line up

Ollofson - Wright - Michkov
Skinner (JJ Peterka) - Cozens - Quinn
Roustallainen - Mitts - Thompson/Krastzov(Eichel trade)
Routsalainen- Asplund- Rosen

Dahlin - Jokiharju
Power - Lundkvist (Eichel trade)
Sammuellson - Johnson
Butcher/Hagg

UPL
Levi

Sabres still have Piluts rights and he is a stud as well!

Savoie is having a stroke?
