This team is going to be a car crash that's just as bad as the Sabres and Sens. Say what you will about the Vegas expansion, at least McPhee had a clear vision and made clever side trades to get assets like Tuch and Theodore. NONE of these picks didn't come from side deals, meaning every last one of these players were of Francis' own pickings. And judging from what we've seen today with the overpayment of Oleksiak and picking up Larsson who might decline in his stint there, I wouldn't hold my breath on them making the correct decisions and signing the right players in the FA and trade windows.
This team, especially as it stands, will struggle mightily in the league. Even in a weak Pacific Division, they will do well to not finish at the bottom given the lack of offensive depth and the risk of using Driedger as a starter (who alarmingly reminds me of Scott Darling, an infamous Carolina signing by, you guessed it, Francis).
