Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Trades seem pretty realistic:
Seattle takes Leddy (pelech, pulock, mayfield are protected on D)
Dermott trade gives Toronto cheap depth in Aho, grit in Ross.
Detroit and New Jersey take picks for cap dumps
Ottawa takes Ladd deal for bellows, Salo, a 1st, and 3rd

on the signings end:
Pelech, Cizikas take discounts to stay
Beau is dominant in playoffs, but still lacks strong production in the regular season, so $4 AAV seems fair
Sorokin takes shorter term contract, hopefully gets bigger payday with the isles in the future.
Dermott takes 2x2 for an opportunity to play top 4, he has strong advanced stats, and with trotz as coach, he could flourish here.
zajac and dal colle are fine depth forwards, Greene is fine for D.

For next year, look at moving Bailey, Varlamov to clear cap.

Hickey is an AHL player and Detroit doesn't need him as there are loads of better LD in FA this year.

The 2nd rounder to sweeten the deal is good enough for Detroit to accept though, he can mentor the kids in Grand Rapids.

palmieri probably wants more term and he reminds me a lot of Andrew Ladd before he signed with the isles. Let's not go down that road again.

Not really. Hickey would be sent to GR and half of his cap would disappear. That makes it comparable to the Staal deal.

The Ladd trade is actually surprisingly balanced. He has 11m left in cap hit but only 8m left in salary. Marleau had 6m left as a cap dump and got a first before the flat cap, Ottawa took on a little over 3m in a cap dump from Tampa last year and got a second.

I think a first, a third and two decent prospects falls in line with the kind of return you’d expect based on the other two mentioned. If there’s a way to make this happen after his 3m signing bonus is paid this year, 100% I think Ottawa would do this. I’d be happy with the value on this one for sure
