Description
Jets trade 2022 1st round pick, Sami Niku, and Kristian Vesalainen to Columbus for Seth Jones
RONDE 1ÉQUIPEORIGINALJOUEURDéTAILS
1Logo de Sabres de Buffalo-Power is the favorite to go No. 1, but I see Beniers as a better fit for Buffalo. With the trade speculation of Eichel and Reinhart, the Sabres should draft a replacement forward.
2Logo de Kraken de Seattle-The no-brainer pick here. After the draft lottery, Francis confirmed that he won't be addressing a team need during the draft.
3Logo de Ducks d'Anaheim-The Ducks need goal-scoring in their top-six. Even though Eklund is undersized, his shooting and vision make up for it.
4Logo de Devils du New Jersey-It would be cool for Luke and Jack to reunite.
5Logo de Blue Jackets de Columbus-With Jones off the team (see mock trade above), the Blue Jackets should go with best defenseman available. Some scouts compare Edvinsson to Jones, so drafting that type of player would be interesting.
6Logo de Red Wings de Detroit-The Red Wings need a 2C behind Larkin so they draft Johnson. A very high-end playmaker with such skill and creativity. Needs to work on his strength and defense.
7Logo de Sharks de San Jose-I don't see Guenther falling any lower than this. Because all teams addressed their needs, Guenther falls out of the top 5. The Sharks need everything, so they go with BPA.
8Logo de Kings de Los Angeles-The Kings have a loaded prospect pool, so they go with the BPA available.
9Logo de Canucks de Vancouver-The Canucks don't really have a young RD in their system. They draft one here in Clarke.
10Logo de Sénateurs d'Ottawa-I have McTavish going here. He led Canada to a gold medal during the U18's and has great goal-scoring ability. That matches well with Stutzle's high-end playmaking.
11Logo de Coyotes de l'Arizona-
Choix au repêchage retiré
12Logo de Blackhawks de Chicago-I don't see Lysell falling no lower than this. The Blackhawks get a steal here.
13Logo de Flames de Calgary-This is the perfect fit for Calgary. Lucius is often compared to Elias Lindholm, so why not be mentored by Lindholm himself?
14Logo de Flyers de Philadelphie-The Flyers struggled defensively this season, so they should pick one in order to be a playoff team again. Svozil is often compared to Provorov, so why not be mentored by Provorov?
15Logo de Stars de Dallas-The Stars need a goal-scorer and a RD. I can't see Sillinger falling any further than 15. Great NHL bloodlines, goal-scoring, and hockey IQ.
16Logo de Rangers de New York-One of the biggest risers in the draft. Undersized, but his dangerous shot make up for it. Matches well with Lafreniere's high-end playmaking.
17Logo de Canadiens de Montréal-The Canadiens have no center depth behind Suzuki and Kotkaniemi. They draft one in Bourgault.
18Logo de Blues de St-Louis-I don't see Chibrikov falling more further. The Blues go for BPA and get a leader with this pick. Chibrikov captained Russia to a silver medal during the U18's.
19Logo de Jets de Winnipeg-With Jones now on the team (see mock trade above), I don't see the Jets going for defense. They need speed up front and Samoskevich is one of the fastest players in the draft. Off-the-board, but it is a need for the Jets.
20Logo de Predators de Nashville-The Predators need a goal-scorer and a power play quarterback. Coronato has a lot of offensive flare in his game and is strong on the power play.
21Logo de Oilers d'Edmonton-The Oilers need Cossa, but Holland never likes drafting goalies in round 1. They also need depth behind McDavid and Draisaitl and a physical presence. L'Heureux addresses both of these issues.
22Logo de Devils du New JerseyLogo de Islanders de New YorkI don't see Svechkov falling no further.
23Logo de Bruins de Boston-Sweeney addressed during the regular season that his team is lacking goal-scorers. Tuomaala is a goal-scorer who was fourth in overall points during the U18's.
24Logo de Red Wings de DetroitLogo de Capitals de WashingtonThe Red Wings take a potential high-quality starter in Cossa. Could be a top 10 goalie in the NHL in a few years.
25Logo de Blue Jackets de ColumbusLogo de Lightning de Tampa BayI don't see Ceulemans falling no further than this. The steal of the draft here.
26Logo de Wild du Minnesota-Scouts compare Lambos to Ryan Suter, so why not have Lambos be mentored by Suter?
27Logo de Blue Jackets de ColumbusLogo de Maple Leafs de TorontoThe Blue Jackets get another steal. I see little scenarios where Pinelli falls past 20th overall. He solves their center problems.
28Logo de Avalanche du Colorado-The Avalanche should draft a forward here regardless. They've stacked up on defense the past few drafts. They get the perfect complement to Newhook here.
29Logo de Wild du MinnesotaLogo de Penguins de PittsburghThe Wild solve their scoring issues and center depth with this pick. Undersized, but Guerin has shown that he is willing to draft undersized players with their pick of Rossi last year.
30Logo de Panthers de la Floride-Defensive depth behind Ekblad is a big problem, the Panther address that with this pick. Chayka is a outstanding defensive defenseman.
31Logo de Hurricanes de la Caroline-The Hurricanes traded a LD in Fleury during the deadline. They take another LD here in Hreschuk.
32Logo de Golden Knights de Vegas-The Golden Knights are a deep team, so they go with BPA.
RONDE 2ÉQUIPEORIGINALJOUEURDéTAILS
33Logo de Sabres de Buffalo-Dahlin needs a reliable partner on defense, and the Sabres draft one here in Schmidt. He has NHL-ready size and great offensive flare.
34Logo de Ducks d'Anaheim-With Eklund in their system, the Ducks forward core is completely set for the future. They go for a defenseman here.
35Logo de Kraken de Seattle-The Kraken get a steal here.
36Logo de Golden Knights de VegasLogo de Devils du New JerseyThe Golden Knights continue to draft the BPA, regardless of position.
37Logo de Coyotes de l'ArizonaLogo de Blue Jackets de ColumbusThe Coyotes get a steal here, the odds of Raty dropping out of the first round are very slim. If he gets his ceiling back, he could be a reliable 2C for the Coyotes.
38Logo de Red Wings de Detroit-
39Logo de Sénateurs d'OttawaLogo de Sharks de San Jose
40Logo de Kings de Los Angeles-
41Logo de Canucks de Vancouver-
42Logo de Sénateurs d'Ottawa-

RONDE 3ÉQUIPEORIGINALJOUEURDéTAILS
65Logo de Rangers de New YorkLogo de Sabres de Buffalo
66Logo de Ducks d'Anaheim-
67Logo de Kraken de Seattle-I see Olausson falling to the third round of the draft because of the lack of effort in his game. Most teams would want to pass on that.
68Logo de Devils du New Jersey-
69Logo de Blue Jackets de Columbus-
70Logo de Red Wings de Detroit-

Kent Johnson was a winger in the BCHL. Kent Johnson was listed as a center at Michigan, BUT he played the whole season at LW there. Because of his size, speed, and the conference/division the Wings play in: there is no hope that he can stick as a center in the NHL for them. And if they consider him a winger, then they take Dylan Guenther instead.

Series is 2-0 right now. Not saying it won't happen...but even 3-1 isn't advancing in a playoff series--just ask leafs fans.

ATM is not indicative of where they really are...and now they won they are drafting higher.
16-27 are set by the 1st AND 2nd round elimination---not just the 1st round.

32 DNE Arizona forfeit
31-28 range (31 SC Winner, 30 SC Final Loser, 28 & 29 Conference Finals Losers)
24-27 range (division winners by highest point percentage---If Avs move on Vegas picks 24th. If Vegas moves on Avs pick 27th)
16-23 losers of rounds 1 and 2 by regular season point percentage

assuming TB wins, NYI win, and Colo wins:
27 Carolina
26 Minnesota via Pittsburgh
25 Columbus via Toronto
24 Vegas
23 Florida
22 Detroit via Washington
21 Minn
20 Boston
19 Edmonton
18 Nashville
17 Winn
16 St Louis

If Vegas wins
move Vegas out and everyone above pick 24 down one then place Avs at 27th

if Boston comes back
NJD via NYI pick becomes 19. Edmonton becomes 20.

If Tampa pulls a Toronto:
not worth the time.
