    you get corry perry for the playoffs, also perry has 21 this season. for a 36 year old guy whos been stuck on the 4th line most of the season , thats fairly good

    Yes, we are still paying his recapture penalty.

    You would be still paying his full contract if he didn’t retire. The penalty seems like a huge win

    There was a compliance buyout in 2013 that they could have exercised. Devils were not given that opportunity.

    Also, if Kings were willing to shell out as much as they did a few years ago, he also could have been traded.

    Lastly, the pick they lost turned out to be Nikolaj Ehlers.

    Devils were hosed multiple times over because Bettman wanted to scalp Lou.
