I agree, to the same extent. Just worried about the rising cap after 21-22. Would save money dealing Buch for assets, while Bridging Kakko and Kravtsov (the one more likely to get moved, if not Buch).

Buch is a legit top 6 winger who is an RFA still has equal or better numbers to Nuge I think Oiler fans would have wanted first and good prospect for Nuge. So I disagree that Lavoie and first is too much for Buch. The rest of the trade could just be for difference between Koski and Georgiev cap

I dont think the Toews, ROR, Couturier's are available. They have to find the next one.

They need a big bodied, physical center, hard to play against, a guy that leans on you, good defensively, a leader. Or some combination of these needs.
We keep seeing threads of acquiring guys that essentially what Strome is ilk (although Strome is out producing most of them) like Monahan, Hertl, Reinhart, etc. I dont see any of these guys are improving the team, its trading just to trade and hoping it works out. Doesnt mean it wont, but it's not checking any of the boxes of what the team needs.

Other than trading for Eichel (question marks with that neck injury, as well as the Cap and compensation), or holding out hope that Barkov doesn't resign with the Panthers (longshot), there aren't many other options like them that are available.

I agree to not making a trade just for the sake of making a trade. But the C depth in the Rangers system is weak. Considering Strome is gone after 21-22, with Chytil the next best thing at 2C (still feel he is not right at the position), they do need to make a move of some sort.
