nope this is very stupid, we don't need kadri who's aging and is always suspended in the playoffs on the third line, with no cap space by the way, for nick robertson, a potential 30 goal scorer in his prime who's only 19

Seems steep for the Leafs, considering Kadri only has one year on his deal. Maybe add Kaut or something and balance it out. So Kadri + Kaut for Robertson, 2nd, and maybe another lesser pick/prospect?

Why would Kaut balance the trade? Kaut scored 6 goals and 16 points in 20 AHL games this year, compared to 5 goals and 16 points in 21 games for Robertson. Kaut is admittedly older than Robertson so outscoring him is to be somewhat expected, but point is that the difference between the two of them isn't that big.

That’s then an over pay for COL, and the one thing you can almost guarantee is Sakic isn’t overpaying for anybody, I’m not all that enamored with Robertson, who is good but because of a killer D+1 year in juniors the expectations seem to have gone a little crazy.

Kaut is almost 2 full years older and has no place on the Avs. Robertson is a better prospect and a better fit. No reason to hold onto Kaut at this point when he keeps getting passed on the depth chart.

that is not true at all, Kaut definitely has a place on this team. This is the first year of his ELC, like come on they used the system to their advantage to slide out his ELC to give them better shots of plugging him in during the cap crunch

Kaut is still a very good player young player, offensively he has picked up his game in the AHL while still being rock solid defensively and a PKer. If you dont think there is room for that, then I dont know what to tell you other than seems like you have a preconceive notion of Kaut and is a write off in your mind before the season even started

I just call it as I see it. Kaut may turn out to be a fine NHL player, but he had a shot this year and didn't do so well. And this is after 100+ AHL games. It's pretty clear to me that Bednar isn't particularly high on him at the moment. Megna, Newhook, O'Brien, and Sherwood all saw more action than he did.

Add that the team had a lot of options at RW and the writing is kinda on the wall. He needs to either make a big, big jump or he's in danger of getting stuck. The latter is much more likely in my eyes, so I wouldn't mind seeing him moved.
