how much could cizikas get in FA? i really like his overall game

I love Casey and my gut feeling is he takes a home town discount for more years and less AAV. I think he takes 2m x 4yr to stay but he’ll probably get a 3m x 3yr offer to play else where.

He’s one of the best 4th line C’s for my money however he is starting to show some signs of decline. I’m fine with the isles bringing him back as long as the cap hit is around 2m.

I love them too but honestly it's been time for two years now. Cizikas' OT goal was amazing but he's completely lost his offense. Clutterbuck lost his years ago. Martin weirdly rekindled his somewhat but he's not playing a regular shift (sometimes Pageau plays LW with them).

I want Cizikas to get PAID by another team and we move on. We can sign Zajac, give Koivula the spot, or sign/trade for another 4C at a cheaper deal. I like the Khaira and a 2nd for Varlamov deal here.

I think we should try and keep them, because clutterbuck is gonna retire soon, and I think that's when it gets to the point where we can break up the 4th line. id say give it 2 to three years tops.

If Cizikas signs a one-year deal to come back, then I agree with you. But their contracts don't align, making this much more difficult.

Agreed. The isles have to stop giving out contracts to aging players for their past performances. At his peak cizikas was a high end 3C, but if the isles want to put themselves in the best position to win, they need to move on from the 4th line and use that money elsewhere

No he won’t. Pelech, Pulock, Mayfield. That’s the 3 D they protect. Cannot afford to lose Mayfield. He was meh in the regular season but has been really good in the PO and is on the cheapest deal ever.
