I don't mean to offend anyone if a trade or signing sucks, this is just for fun and these are some changes I would make for a Columbus Rebuild. I decided to rebuild the team with younger players, some more grit, and more depth in all regions.
The Main Core: Laine, Danault, Werenski, Jones, Nuget-Hopkins
Los Angelas: Merzlikins is a decent goalie, but I decided to go with Korpisalo, as his record was better, and he's cheaper, plus it allows them to sign a better goaltender. In return, they get Athanasiou, a good, speedy centre, Laferriere, an upcoming prospect, Lemieux, a great bottom 6 player, and a 3rd round pick.
Seattle Trade: Nyquist is good, but I decided to go with Atkinson and Bjorkstrand, and this is a good chance to dump his contract, as well give younger players a chance for a roster spot.
Detroit/San Jose: Getting rid of players for picks. These are done to make room for Dunn and Barrie.
New York Trade: Domi is an overrated player, I feels its best to get rid of him and make room fro someone else. I may have overcompensated, but I traded him and a first to New York for Centers Barron, who could add some needed grit and youth, as well as Zach Jones, who is on a +40 point pace in a 82 game season, Kakko, a good bottom 6 player, as well as Lundkvist and Ollas for younger Talent.
Tell me what you think though, I'm open to suggestions for different trades.

I can see the Los Angeles trade if for some reason Seattle selects Jonathan Quick, but not otherwise. Besides, I was under the impression that Columbus expects Merzlikins to be their #! goalie for the foreseeable future. In any event, we would owe the Blue Jackets a better C prospect, like Akil Thomas or even Jaret Anderson-Dolan.

Yeah, I asked for way too much looking back on it. I agree with the LA trade as well, I feel like it could be Korlipso instead of Merzlikis, but I feel like Columbus could also capitalize on that potential as well, and maybe get a better goalie in the process.
