Why would we not protect Chiarot? We won't protect Weber because if Seattle is willing to take his contract off our books, they can gladly do so. Instead, I see us protecting Chiarot as well and most likely losing Allen to Seattle.

We don't know what is up with Drouin. It's very possible what ails him has nothing to do with playing in Montreal. It's a waste of time speculating. If he's healthy, the Habs will want him back. if he's not, he'll be put on disability, settle up with the insurance company and his contract will be voided. It's pretty much that simple.

On Barrie, I think you're high on both term and number, but it's a heckuva lot closer to your number than 8M over 2 years (unless he pulls a Hoffman and prices himself out of any offers).
