Description
Dubas likes his smaller skilled guys so go back to that style. This faking it to be tougher w/o understanding what that really means (it's team toughness not signing older gritty vets that makes a team tougher). Make the Defense bigger with Hakanpaa (extremely underrated) and Jones. Trade Dermott and Kerfoot away, do not resign Galch. Get Holl to play with Sandin to shelter him defensively. Muzzin is our new number 1 defender (should've always been him)

Erne is built like a Hymen, Palat to play that type of style, a low cost risk to trade for him and play him in the top 6. Rielly had a great tenure with the leafs but trading him will send a message to the lockerroom and Jones has a higher ceiling. Iunno how much more CBJ would want for him. They're both upcoming UFAs and Jones apparently stated he wants to enter FA.

Yzerman isn't trading his son Adam Erne. Red Strokes. Come on Garth! Better start callin' Baton Rouge! I think I just heard the thunder roll.

I'm not super familiar with the prospects you're sending back to Detroit (so I'm not really sure about the value) but I'd definitely consider selling high on Erne.

Nah. It's just that Yzerman loves Erne like a son because he drafted him in the 2nd round when he was Tampa's GM.

Columbus doesn’t want a rental, tbh the value between Jones and Reilly should be really close.

Here’s the thing…and this isn’t just you, but that is a low return on Jones, even for a year. Reilly is a rental, will be gone in a year, so you’re essentially just giving us a late 1st rounder for Jones.

There are about 31 teams out there that are going to want Jones, so there is going to be a bidding war. It may even just be futures, but the return is probably going to be bigger than this.

I'd say roughly a late 2nd/early 3rd (taking into account he's not on the trade block so it would take a bit of incentive for Yzerman to actually pull the trigger on a trade).

It depends on if you're expecting to get 2021 Adam Erne (20 points in 45 games) or 2019-20 Adam Erne (5 points in 56 games).

Yea Toronto doesn't really have any significant futures they can dish out if that's what CBJ wants
