Two considerations, though. One, would Eichel report to Winnipeg? He strikes me as the kind of guy who wouldn't. And two, do the Jets need to make that deal? They already have a forward group that's as good as anyone's in the league. I would think they would be using their forward depth to target a player like Seth Jones. Something like Copp, Pionk and a 1st?

Actually, that's too much. Make it Copp, Demelo and a first.

The Jets are better off keeping Dubois as they don't really need Eichel. Scheifele, Dubois is a pretty nice one, two at millions less.

No, honestly, i don't wish this for the Jets at all. I absolutely want them to add a piece on the back end. But not Jones. Unless he magically agrees to extend with Winnipeg, I want the Jets to steer clear of him, unfortunately. The reason I proposed this deal was mostly because I find Dubois' performance rather disappointing, especially considering the price the Jets paid to acquire him. Then I thought, "Hey, Montreal loves their hometown boys, maybe there's something there" . . . And at first I was thinking maybe Jets could add Kotkaniemi (+?) but then I took it a step further and involved Buffalo and the (likely) very best center available.
