Imo he’s worth a 3rd straight up, a 2nd half retained, or straight up for Bear+Turris. Those are the deals I’d be willing to accept, I don’t think we need to add a 3rd, retain half, and take a mediocre contract back to get the 2nd.

Losing Tierney via trade or expansion would not be a big deal in any way, I like the exposed list. I will be rattled if Murray is protected

Edm would never do Bear and Turris for Tierney. One bad playoff round doesn't destroy Bear's value. He's a top 4 dman on that team at 23. Tierney a bottom 6 C/W

I'm just trying to provide enough of an incentive for Edmonton to take Tierney smile

How good is Chris Tierney at face offs? After watching this whole season, and playoffs, i have to say that we are bad at winning face offs. All of our center men:

    Connor McDavid: 49.53FO%
    Leon Draisaitl: 55.67FO%
    Ryan McLeod: 50.62FO%
    Jujhar Khaira: 45.24FO%
    Gaeton Haas: 45.42FO%

Our only good one is Draisaitl, so we need at least one more guy that can win a decent amount of face offs.

Tierney was better at face-offs last year than this year.

However, Tierney can kill penalties and still play in any team's bottom six.

Also, he's about 5 years younger than Turris smile

Idk man, I don’t think the Oilers really see him there short or long term. He was a non-option for them in OT of Game 4, as he wasn’t viewed as one of their 4 best D (and Klefbom wasn’t even in the lineup obviously). They look like they’re gonna re-sign Larsson, they have Russell, Nurse, and Klefbom under contract next year, and Bouchard will make the jump full time next year and is a higher end young player than Bear. It doesn’t seem like he figures into their short term plans, and for the long term, he wouldn’t crack their top 4 again until whenever Larsson’s next contract expires assuming Bouchard passes him (very likely). I think he’s a guy they might be willing to move on from this off-season to address other areas of need (i.e. forward depth, particularly 3C lol)

Probably. That was half a decade ago when he first bought the team. He's always been about making money.

He wouldn't pay 4.25M to get a 1st from the Leafs in a Marleau deal. I really don't think he pays 1.75M to go from a 3rd round pick to a 2nd round pick.
