0 chance the penguins do that BUF trade.
They aren't taking cap dumps, Matheson isn't one. Period. People on here need to get over that.

Pettersson will be protected, is he's moved it will be a trade, they will get something for him.
Zucker deal, is neither here nor there. I don't really view it as anything more than a lateral move. Lateral moves just aren't getting it done at this point.
I expect this team to go big, while keeping up the team speed.

What's their expansion list?

This isn't my most realistic build. I just wanted to see if the lateral MTL trade got anywhere / see if a Burke like player in Okposo would stick. I'll refine from here (often post left field ideas first then gradually refine them)

Crosby, Malkin, Jake, Kap, Rust, Blueger, The final name here is up for debate. Zucker is on a lot of lists, others put McCann.
Letang, Dumo, MP, Mario is expempt.
I think there is already a deal set here, which is why they couldn't move their 2nd. It's probably 2nd and Matheson. I don't know. They are gonna dump cap on Seattle you can almost bet on that. They shouldn't have to send a 2nd to do this, but it's probably already been agreed to. Which is why they pulled the trigger on Carter. Who if they didn't move a defenseman, they couldn't afford.

What type of cap move do you think this is? Roll a mock deal by me. Zucker and something? Why does MP produce such a mixed bag from Pens fans - some hate him, others love him?

most people don't know what a good defenseman looks like, they think it's about points or +/-.
MP isn't ever going to be a 1LD, but he's a solid 2LD. He just quietly goes about doing what he does. He's far better in his own end than Matheson, but people see Matheson skate and think...oh he's so good. That's why people start to dislike MP. But you can't pair Matheson with just anyone, he needs someone to cover for him. Which Ceci did. Those two were actually a good pair. One took care of the other. But you can pair MP with anyone and get at least decent results. Just as long as they aren't a total anchor. Which will sink almost all defensemen.
As for the cap deal, it's probably Matheson and a 2nd. A Zucker trade is hard to pin point at this point. Does he move? That's the real question. I'd say it's 50/50. I'm pretty sure McCann is gone. Nowhere to be found way to many times and they need a different direction. I think if they move Zucker it's to fill holes on the blueline. As there will be holes next year with Matheson and Ceci both gone. But we'll see what they do and with FA.
Wqrrior a aimé ceci.

Zucker in his worst year last year was significantly better than Drouin has been in ages, I'd do that BUF trade in a heartbeat, Okposo will likely spend 1/2 his time on LTIR, and even if he doesn't, him at 3x2 is a billion times better than Matheson at 5.whateverx5 and despite TT being awful, Miller *likely* isn't, and I'd give up a 2nd for those 2

The Sabers retaining Miller salary is a bad move when he is most likely going to the Kraken.
