I dont know if the flyers take that, if they can get Seattle to take somebody else. Ghost maybe (19 mins, on pace for 45 pts, pretty okay defensively this year). Ghost is probably gone in espansion and trade, which gives them plenty of cap without dealing JVR.
Thje 3rd and the 5th are pretty meh and Merkley really offers little when you look at their forward center corps and prospects (Couterier, Hayes, Patrick, Frost, Laughton, Foerster, Wisdom, etc...)
While JVR is overpaid, hes a reliable, no injury history 25g guy, whos a safe bet to produce throughout contract and I can;t really see PHI needing cap space to address their issues. What they lack is a defensive RD, and they probably have plenty of cap to make that happen if they move ghost. PHI finished with a winning record that would have put them in playoffs in 2 of 4 divisions, scored plenty, just couldn;t stop anybody from scoring. Their youth regressed, especially hart, sanheim and myers, (along with patrick, lindblom, provorov)....those issues are solvable without freeing tons of cap.
