But I disagree re: Archibald

Especially given his age and UFA status it'd be good to see Kahun and/or Khaira ahead of him... could just sign Travis Boyd to replace Archy quite easily

I don't this makes this team any better. Koskinen is not NHL caliber, his contract is brutal. Kulikov isn't a top 4 fix, if he was, he wouldn't be traded seemingly every deadline. Forget RNH, go after Landeskog at 8.5-9 per year.

Not bad, except that Kulikov is being paid literally 3 times what he should be. With that savings - and the existing cap space - go out and get an impact forward (ideally a RW).

Why should Archi be protected?

i don't think protecting Archi is a great idea at all considering that there are younger and better options.

Koskinen certainly is NHL calibre lol. Kulikov has been just fine in our top 4 and was GREAT in new Jersey. Why go after an only slightly better player (who will probably be re-signed) for 2.5-3 million more?

I'd protect him over Marody and Kahun but I could see why you might not. imo he's our best bottom sixer and Marody and Kahun are expendable.

Landeskog is much more than 'slightly better'.... Woof.

Landeskog is definitely much more than slightly better. RNH is going to be paid well and he's not worth it at all, he's a decent 2nd liner but doesn't score at a high pace and is solid defensively but doesn't bring any sort of grit or have that extra year for playoffs. Now having said that I think there is about a 98% chance that Landeskog re-signs in Colorado.
