Jones is worth more than Girgensons and I wouldn't trade the 33rd overall selection in this draft for Olofsson, let alone add Manson.

Nobody signs someone to immediately trade them. The Vancouver trade is awful not only because Virtanen is about to get his contract terminated, but you’re also retaining on Miller for no reason. The Edmonton trade is just bad, getting rid of Cody Eakin isn’t worth that much. A decent prospect and late first round pick are not nearly enough to justify the rest of the pieces. Koskinen Is an over paid back up, Turris is a third line center (Which we don’t need because Mittelstadt is a good 3rd line center, but not a second line Center), and Kassian is an overpaid 3rd/4th line winger.

This is titled trade deadline as Oleksiak would be a trade deadline move just like Hall and Staal were this year. A good prospect 14 o/a coming off an excellent freshman NCAA season, and a first is about what should be expected for Reinhart. The other pieces are for cap purposes keeping the Sabres above the floor and the Oilers under the ceiling. Virtanen may or may not have his contract terminated depending on what happens with his legal issues and a third with retention is the return for Miller. It is what Montour got.

The Flames don't really have any prospects of interest outside of Zary

Ducks should definitely make this trade. They had one of the worst PP of all time and they instantly get one of the better PP forwards in the league with an elite shot. He has more total points over the past 2 seasons than any player on the Ducks roster by a decent margin despite missing 15 games last year.

The doesn’t mean we should make a trade we’re we lose value wise just so we can improve in one spot

IMO value is right. Girgensons is a lateral move with Jones. I only included those 2 for a fresh start for both of them. A 25 - 30 goal 60 point player is worth an early 2nd that very likely will never play in the nhl and an expiring UFA stay at home defenseman.

Jones holds more value than Girgenson and is also 4 years younger. Manson and 36th OA is not worth Olofsson

Maybe they don't but it doesn't mean they shouldn't. The Sabres should have moved Ristolainen for Ehlers when they had the chance but they didn't
