This represents how unfair Makar's vs Heiskanen's line mates are.

I think the big takeaway is Heiskanen is trusted with a ton of responsibility. He's better than Klingberg imo and gets worse line mates because they need him to do more lifting. Whereas Klingberg (who isnt bad) gets the veteran line mates but who actually are good. That way Dallas can deploy the lifting lines with a great D Klingberg and then send out a worse lineup but with a killer D in Hesikanen.
Whereas Makars team isnt weak, and so he can be abused with the big 3. Col can spam deploy Toews, Girard, Makar with the big 3 beacuse it's just "unfair". Then they can rely on Byram, Graves, Timmins to play with Saad, Donskoi, Kadri etc because Colorado is so much stronger they can be fine with sending out everyone else while Toews, Makar, Mac, Lande, Rant, Girard rest because "everyone else" is basically top 6 players playing bottom/ middle 6 roles.
I like Hesikanen a lot and its good to see that he is still produces with these poor matches. Plus his point pace was very good this year (what 27 pts in 56 games versus his like 30-40 in full seasons?). If anything its a great learning exp if he can develop from it (learning to be a responsible and offensive D and work with what hes got). If Dallas can get stronger and they could really start abusing the D pairings like COL does. Tho Colorado has shown their own flaws in their own end, so Dallas could even be getting ahead of it because Hesikanen is already having to learn to play better because of his worse linemates. Where Vegas exposed COL lack of responsible D; theyre super talented but got exposed in the corners, too flashy passes/ plays, puck battles, retrieval in their own end. These are things I'd assume Hesikanen is already having to work on since his team is worse and as we know; hes not getting to play with guys like Pavs, Robertson or Hintz a ton.
