I dont see why this series loss would change their offseason plan very much. They outplayed Vegas in games 5 and 6 and lost because VGK capitalized on the chances they got. Imo those games couldve easily tipped in COLs favour and the roles could be reversed. Plus Vegas is a great team, theres no shame in losing to that. Id stick with the same offseason plan most Avs fans on this site have (lose Graves to SEA, sign Landeskog, Grubauer, & Makar, and possibly Saad if theres enough room or maybe make room by moving Compher, then use some kids and maybe some depth UFA signings to fill out the roster)

Avs D was very young and inexperienced and it showed. Graves, Nemeth, and Girard all made poor defensive plays at key moments in this series. But Cale Maker has solidified his position as the #1 D in the league right now. His defensive play incredible.

I think so. It wouldnt be ideal to rely on Newhook to immediately become the 2C on a playoff team. Kadri only has 1 year left and has a pretty cheap cap hit, the only teams that would be interested in him would be other contenders so the only type of move that would make sense for both teams would be a rental for rental swap to get another 2C in return. I dont see a fit for that type of move

except the Avs stars were all at/over a point per game. Its still a disappointing end but losing a close series to the 2nd ranked team while youre missing your 2C isnt a reason to blow up the team. Keep as much depth as possible, bring in the highly touted prospects, make some adjustments to improve and try again next year. Look at WSH from '15-'17, not every team needs to make massive changes, especially when the series have all been so close

Why does this sounds exactly like the leafs except for the stars part.

Now that the avs are out I expect to see many ACGM from rangers fans offering kravtsov , strome , and a 2nd for mackinnon.
