Am I the only one that thinks Juuse Saros should’ve been a Hart candidate. Obviously it wasn’t gonna happen considering he wasn’t even nominated for Vezina (somehow) but I can’t be the only one right
Everyone complaining about Tampa being over the cap by nearly 20 mil (which they aren’t that’s including Gaborik and whoever else that’s literally not even nhl players). But I mean really they’re just Kucherov (give or take over) which many other teams are over the cap by a player or two.
Vegas played handful of games with less than 18 skaters (didn’t they play like 15 guys?) and still at the cap. I mean I’d still say that suspect even tho it’s allowed by the league (cause they’re getting by till playoffs with bare bones till they’re allowed playing over the cap). Like most teams have weasled some excess cap in some way, and Tampa’s just doing it better.

Tampa just plays the cap game better than everyone else and everybody wants to cry about it. They’re within the rules.
Not sure that the Sabres wouldn't want to bring Eichel back, but Eichel definitely doesn't want to come back
I've never been more convinced of anything. Eichel should not be playing for the Sabres next season. Will he be? That's a much tough question to answer.

Plus Hamilton saying “18 mil over” is just technically incorrect.
Everyone’s got the same opportunity and Tampa sacrifices their future for winning now. They’re losing stuff in the end but the cost versus the reward is definitely worth it for them. They have faith in winning and are buying in financially and through selling future assets. No other team is taking the risks they are.
Selling picks and prospects, they’re accepting they’re losing multiple players this offseason and likely PAYING someone to take on a contract and more. They are playing the game better than everyone else.
So Tampa-Isles, I hope Isles win. for some reason I’m horrible at naming brackets, my “official playoff bracket” had Avs, Leafs, Pens and Canes as final 4, ouch, while my “unrealistic bracket” had Isles, Tampa, Montreal and Colorado😭
