I wouldn't expend any assets to jettison Subban, but I don't see how he's needed at all. The money would likely be better spent making an offer Hamilton can't refuse.

I don't know why we would jettison at all.
It is more likely we re-sign* him than dump him.

Devils need tippy top end players. If at all possible, resources should be allocated to doing that or trying to do that. Devils fans have too many favorites and "untouchables" for a perennial bottom feeder.
