I love Weegar but there’s no chance Muzzin would be traded for him.

Muzzin has actually been amazing lately.

I think switch out Muzzin for Rielly and I'd do it

Muzzin is a really solid shutdown guy for us, I wouldn't wanna lose him

Trade Reilly before Muzzin. Could argue he's the 3rd most important Dman on the Leafs behind Muzzin and Brodie, and he's going to be extremely difficult to keep long term.

Sure, but I don't think Florida a)Has any interest in trading Weegar, especially if it's for a rental, or b)should move a guy who can play both Rd/Ld for an offensive LD, which they already have, especially when they have the cap space to keep Weegar and add around him.

Also, Toronto trading Rielly makes zero sense. They're a contender. The only teams that would be interested in a Rielly rental are other contenders. Why make another team better? So that Sandin can play more? Ef that. There's plenty of minutes for him.

I think letting Freddie walk which puts us up 5m, it'd be a piece of cake to sign Rielly at a 6.5x6 no problem

Wasn't trying to suggest Florida should be interested in Reilly, or that they should be trading Weegar. Wasn't even really suggesting that Toronto should definitely trade Reilly. Just saying that if they trade anyone, you trade Reilly before Muzzin.

100%. Cheers! After re-reading my post, I can see how it potentially could come off as snarky.

That's a pretty big assumption that Reilly takes another super team friendly deal. He might be willing to make things work on AAV, but I'd be shocked if he also budges from max term on what will be his last big contract. Assuming he doesn't take a huge step back next year, his contract on the open market starts at 7×7 maybe higher.

Way too much cap going to Florida. Are we getting in more silly RHD trades to the Leafs?
