The Canadiens overall are built more for the playoffs. Last season, who thought that the Montreal Canadiens, a team who was supposed to lose to the Pittsburgh Penguins, beat the Penguins. I'm not saying that it's impossible for the Leafs to lose to the Habs, but the Leafs have had no playoff success since 2004. I was watching, game for game, the Habs and Penguins series, and playoff Carey Price is different from regular season Price. The Habs can play that wear and tear type of style that will consecutively have energy on all 4 lines. The biggest factor that the Leafs have over the Habs is goal scorers, but we all know that players like Nylander don't show up when games get tough and physical, so he will be an extra unneeded body in the lineup. The Leafs need to get ready for a lot of hitting and bruising plays, and if a big physical team like the Senators can play spoilers against the Leafs, make no mistake, the Habs can do it too WITH offense. You do not want to play against a big, bruising, power horse in Josh Anderson (especially in the playoffs), guys like Joel Edmundson, Jeff Petry, and don't forget about that Romanov kid who layed Nylander, Matthews, and Marner out. I know, myself including, will have that inch of hope that the Leafs could beat the Habs, but not with playoff Price in net. Now I'm ready to take criticism, but I can't see the Leafs beating the Habs. Regular season hockey is different than playoff hockey. If the Habs lose, the league won't bat an eye as they were the underdogs. If the Leafs lose, they will be known as the chokers. Pressure vs no pressure
To all the Leafs fan who thinks the Leafs will win in 4 or 5, I'm laughing.
Your explanation is exactly why I was very hopeful oilers don’t get them first round.... could be the toughest of all Canadian teams not the best just toughest. Leafs might win the series but it’s going to take a lot out of the gas tank doing so.
They just announced back to back games for the playoffs. So we are going to go with Campbell in both games while the Habs have Allen and Price. Yah the Leafs are done LOL

You're right. Price and Allen will be too much for Toronto to handle.
I agree. MTL is built for heavy hockey and if Price can play his game that he usually does in playoff games, TML are done. If MTL forgets how to score and Price isnt in his playoff form, its a 5 gamer for TML

Yup exactly. Not saying it's impossible for the Leafs, they can't get outmuscled
I love how Montreal barely made the playoffs and thats the go to line, Montreal is better built for the playoffs like they were saving all their energy or they have Richard and Beliveau waiting in the shadows

I think this series is too hard to predict this early. Leafs beat the Habs 7 out of 10 times this season, however if you remove all of the EN goals scored the games were very very close with 7 of 10 decided or would have been decided by 1 goal. Both teams are evenly matched, but the Leafs have more top end talent and the Habs have more talent spread throughout the lineup. But IF we play Staal and Perry on the same line and instead of KK or Evans then we are doomed. Our best lineup would be
Tatar-Danault-Gallagher
Toffoli-Suzuki-Anderson
Caufield-Kotkaniemi-Perry
Byron-Evans-Lehkonen
Edmundson-Petry
Kulak-Weber
Romanov-Chiarot
Price
Allen
