Yeah, I think the pressure is on for Kevyn Adams, and if he holds out like he did with Hall, he'll get something much less than this offer.

Yeah thats a concern is injuries. Maybe the matching 8x8 deals for the two best friends is a pipe dream, but more likely Svech will take a bridge and Dougie will sign that type of deal.

If Skjei is in the trade instead of Gards then theres a little more cap room for a 13th fwd or 7th dman

You must not be too aware of the medical situation thats occurred with his neck injury and them not allowing him to have surgery. Yeah stuff like that causes athletes to sit out and not want to play for you every again. No amount of money is worth longterm health.

I think all the big names coming off their ELC’s Svechnikov, Makar, Heiskanen, Fox, Hughes, Dahlin take bridge deals to make more money for themselves in the long run and give clubs some flexibility in the short term.

If thats the case then they terminate contracts and Buffalo truly gets nothing. The Sabres have zero leverage and a pretty inept GM. This isn't going to end well for them unless someone overpays.

Buffalo has to agree to terminate the contract, they have his rights for 5 years. He can't just walk out and leave, also this is a major if scenario. Eichel still hasn't requested a trade, Buffalo isn't trading him for a good piece, a decent piece, and a waiver player

In the ever so small chance that this would happen (although I wouldnt put it past Tom D discussed acquiring Stamkos when he was rumored available) we would need Seattle to take Skjei. Payment of Geekie, maybe.

His quotes earlier in the week were all but explicitly saying 'trade me'. They're messing with his heath at this point, it's not just an on ice issue. That stuff cant be fixed so easily. Jack has all the leverage to just not report next season and say he's not playing for them ever again, and smart GMs like Don Waddell know that. This will not end the way Sabres fans think it will.

I see where you're coming from, but Necas has more team flexibility contract wise and is two years younger than Jack. I would absolutely do Tro-Skjei-Geekie-1st for Eichel. But I think the Necas-LDman not named Slavin-Pick-B prospect deal is closer to fair value.

Gardiner is not a positive for Buffalo. So this trade is worse than Necas and a 1st for Eichel and I just can't see that happening.

They might not ever play him again but they will get better offers from other teams

If Buffalo has to get rid of Eichel I think they want to get younger. Gardiner and Skjei don't do that.

Also, Foegele's qualifying offer is 2,150,000. He will not sign for less than that and would go to UFA

I'm sure few agree, but I'm not trading necas for Eichel at this point. Eichel is damaged good potentially. sure it may work out, but you cant take that chance with a 10 mil cap hit. Necas could be a 70-80 point player for far less money. the cap means way more than people account for.
