Don't get me wrong i like hendrix lapierre. I just don't like your Eichel deal Sticking Out Tongue, i'd like to see one of the players be a little more exciting. I know im not getting frosted flakes but can i atleast get some raisins in the oatmeal mom!

I agree there's not enough quality for eichel. Also think that's way way too much for kuznetsov. At the very least take one of the prospects out

You’re telling me you’re going to ask for more than 3 high ceiling players for Eichel? McMichael and Lapierre both project to be top 6 skilled centers. Samsonov projects to be a high end starting goalie. Oshie is an effective top 6 forward who has shown absolutely zero signs of aging when everyone keeps saying he’s going to slow down. He just won’t. And Eller is arguably one of the best 3Cs in the league, and on a great contract. This is a fair Eichel trade, in fact I would say no if I were the caps. I’m not trading our two best center prospects on top of our best goalie, an important top 6 forward, and the best 3C in the league. Not worth it to me.

And honestly, I don’t blame you. Strome is younger, more consistent, and less problematic off the ice.

Yep that Kuznetsov trade is so bad. Kuznetsov for Strome straight up would be closer but ya Washington would probably have to add to that especially with kuzy cap hit or at least retain salary.

His production has declined for 3 consecutive seasons. He is 29 with 4 years left at 7.8m and has had off ice issues.

Don't get me wrong I still like the player but don't know if he will be worth that contract for the next 4 years. Strome has played really well the past 2 seasons with or without panarin and doesn't come with the big price tag.

I would consider a Strome for Kuzy trade one for one and might just accept but it's not a no brainer to me.

You're too close to it, since you're obviously a Caps fan. I am a fan of neither team and I'm telling you, that is not the package that does it. For starters, GMs like their "own guys", so draft picks have much more weight than prospects, so unless you have inside information that Adams was in love with Hendrix or McMichael and has been stewing about not getting them in the draft, it doesn't matter how much you love them, they're not worth more than future 1sts to another GM. Samsonov has shown cracks this season and the fact is, goalies just aren't worth much in a trade. Every season you could pluck some random UFA off the scrap heap and start them and they could compete for the Vezina, that's just how strange that position is and trade value, even for proven goalies, reflects that. As for Eller and Oshie, yes, they're very good in their roles... and aging. Those are not pieces that move the needle on a top 5 center in the league, who still has term and is still pretty young. I'm not saying it's a crap pile, just that it wouldn't be the return that would get that trade done. Think more like McMichael, Hendrix, and 2 1sts.

I'm not even saying that this would be a smart trade for Washington. As a matter of fact, I think Eichel to Washington makes zero sense for the Caps due to the assets they'd have to give up, their current team chemistry and capspace. It's just not a fit.

I am a Caps fan and I think that this Eichel trade would be a horrible move by the caps. For them in their current state it's not worth it to make that trade. Eichel needs to go to a team that is on the rise, a team that is coming out of a rebuild and just on the edge of being a contender, that is where Eichel needs to go. The Caps only have another 3-5 years before a rebuild, as much as I hate to say it.

I understand that a little more, but I think you might be undervaluing Samsonov. I agree it doesn't make sense to include Oshie and Eller in an Eichel trade. It might hurt us in the long run, but I would be willing to throw in both McMichael and Lapierre in an Eichel trade. It's just a matter of what other pieces get included. I think it would make more sense to do Alexyev over Lapierre, but chances are a deal will never come to fruition for these two teams regardless.

Mcmichael had 13 more points than Quinn last year in the OHL. they are the same birth year. Quinn was draft 8oa. Mcmichael isnt a nothing prospect. carelessly giving away prospects is how Forsberg trades happen. Eichel wants out of Buffalo also i imagine they have little leverage.
