Feel like it takes more to get JG with 3 mil retained. We don't need Chiarot we already have York on that 3rd pair by next season. Barrie isn't what we need Barrie's defensive game isn't good and we need defensive D-men.

Montreal really has no need for a gritty winger but you can still have Chiarot for say a 3rd

Unfortunately, I'm not sure there are going to be a lot of other options available other than Barrie. I'd love Hamilton in Philly but I'm not sure I see that happening. Plus I think strictly from a matchup perspective that Barrie would be a good partner for Provorov

Provorov and Barrie would be good offensively but not that great defensively. Getting Hamilton is achievable if we get rid of Voracek's or JVR's contract. There are some options like Murphy and Larsson but Larsson isn't really a 1st pair D-man but a top 4 for sure. Jones isn't really an option bc CBJ wants a 1C for him.
