No not really, hes with the sabres until they choose for him not to be.
He could do some radical options like he would have to do something like retire from the league and walk away from all the rest of the guaranteed money like Kovalchuk did.
NHLPA would have to file a grievance on his behalf against Buffalo on the grounds they did something not to honour that contract and justify it as a breach of contract to allow him to nullify and freely sign else where....which would be a dangerous road for the NHLPA to head down, which they would never do
