Good luck leafs! Get the W for canada and Big Joe. Hopefully Anderson makes it back in time and your left side steps up

What I'm going to do is the starting lineups for the 16 teams in the playoffs.

I might do 8 teams today and then 8 tomorrow.

I think in a series against either the Canadiens or Jets, offense should be king: both of these teams struggle to score. I wouldn't look to play defense-first hockey until you get to the Oilers. That said:

Hyman - Matthews - Marner
Galchenyuk - Tavares - Nylander
Mikheyev - Kerfoot - Foligno
Thornton - Brooks - Spezza

Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl
Sandin - Dermott

Campbell
Who cares

I really think the Leafs should wait to look to Hutton, Nash, and Simmonds until they're tasked with stymying the Oilers over a seven-game series. This helps keep legs fresh while also overloading the poor structures of the Jets and Habs. More likely to finish a series in 5 or 6 with this setup than you would a more classical setup.

It's not permanent.

The quarantine and the fact that he's playing for a new team right before the playoffs are factored in.

It will take him a bit of time to adjust IMO.

yes except Simmonds maybe. He contributes offensively as a net-front guy and we need the snarl. If a Hab/Oiler took a cheap shot at a top player he's the guy to step up

Who on the Habs is taking a cheap shot? On the Jets? They aren't built like that. More importantly, who comes out? Foligno isn't a pushover, Thornton isn't either. I imagine Reilly would be willing to beat the brakes off of someone if they took a run at one of the forwards. Muzzin would happily.

Toughness is overrated. If Edmonton ices Kassian, then fine fight fire with fire, but otherwise punish the Habs/Jets on the scoresheet and let the Wayne Train do his thing against the Oilers.

I'd like to introduce you to Corey Perry, lol.

Not saying I disagree with your main point, but to ask that question about a team with Corey freaking Perry on it is a bit sus.

I keep forgetting he's in Montreal. Trust me when I say Oilers fans have an innate familiarity with the rat.

Anderson might. He can't score points as of the like 10th game into the season so he has to do something to be useful. BUt fair point, this years team has other guys who can step up
