I'm seeing a lot of trades like this but I don't really think Buffalo is interested in acquiring players, they want high round picks.

The price to acquire Eichel is probably more than what Columbus is willing to pay since are not in a buyers position. Personally I think they will be frontrunners for Kuznetsov though

Exactly. Giving up what BUF is likely to ask for Eichel would be a lateral move *at best* for CBJ.

And when your team isn’t very good, a lateral move isn’t very good.

I also think Buffalo will try to send Eichel out west unless they are overblown by an offer. Realistically we are probably looking at a Seguin-esque return.

More than Seguin. Boston didn’t get anything for Seguin and eichel is a better player

Seguin was also 2 years younger at the time of the trade.
This is what I expect:
- top end prospect (not franchise prospect like Laffy or Byfield)
- 1st (higher the pick the lower the above prospect)
- vet player, mid/late prime, not a 4th line cap dum0
- young nhl player or prospect + 2nd

Maybe some conditions in there since Eichel is gonna need surgeries this summer
