I don’t know a whole lot about BUF players, I don’t watch many games. But if Reinhart isn’t a bad C I could definitely see CBJ interested. If he’s much better suited as a winger, maybe EDM would be interested. I’m not sure though. Like I said, I don’t know much about BUF players.

Jets decline. Better options for replacement level defenseman on the open market.

Considering Risto’s perceived value is probably higher than his on ice value, this is definitely the sort of move Chevy could make in the offseason. You may not like the deal, but it’s definitely within the realm of possibility

I am confident that the NHL knows the true value of Ristolainen.

In case you haven’t noticed, NHL GMS aren’t going to be using JFresh analytic charts to evaluate players lol. Even the teams that are analytics heavy use their own in house models.

Risto may benefit from a change of scenery and I could see a lot of teams being interested in a big strong D man who has broken 40 points on very bad Sabres teams 4 times

In case you haven't realized, in house analytic models would come to the same conclusion as only the parameters would be different but the data showing his bad underlying play would be the same. A player with three consecutive down seasons is unlikely to have a sizeable improvement from a change of scenery. Your best bet is to trade him to a team that does not value analytics.

About the title of your ACGM, I remember Sabres fans not just being better than Pittsburgh, but competitive with the rest of that division LoL.

Well... I guess it's good to be optimistic.

He had one bad season (this year). Even last year he was on pace for 39 points in 82 games. Risto is a fine player, and will likely have a higher perceived value among NHL GM’s than he does on cap friendly. I’m not sure how analytics based Chevy and his management team are, but I’m not thinking he uses them religiously

I remember specifically on CF, Sabres fans said they’d finish ahead of Pittsburgh and Washington when doing their pre season rankings tears of joy

There was at least a couple who said that. Can’t remember exactly who and it would take way too long to find those posts

They do use their analytics department quite a bit. Both Cheveldayoff and Maurice has referenced them in their pressers. In one of Maurice's pressers he even spoke about the data filtering the team has to do to correct the league's shot location data.

He is a right handed, puck moving damn who has size. It won't be hard for the sabres to trade him to just about any team in the league.
