Well that's just terrible asset management. To upgrade your goalie to a younger guy who is likely the best goalie in the league is worth a second (not a first) and taking a good player and a cap dump.

Your team is instantly better after this. Killorn is easily tradeavke or keep him he's good

If you can use your cap space (ie Johnson) to get the best goalie in the league you do that

Lol there’s nothing to say here if you think upgrading from Gibson to Vasi and taking on 13M gets this team any closer to contention.

The difference between the two of them is massive. I've always thought Gibson was quietly a top 3-4 goaltender in the league but he's now had two disappointing seasons in a row.

Using goals saved above average for vasi and Gibson (source is hockey reference) would have been a 20.8 goal swing last year and a 27.2 goal swing this year.

Gotta be honest I expected that would bring them closer to even in goal differential than it does. They are a worse team than I realized.

All that being said, by pure asset management it's worth it. You've gotten one of the best players in the league and a good (positive value) winger in killorn. The cost was a cap dump for 4 years and a second essentially. Worst case scenario you trade vasi immediately for the great return he is worth as the best tender in the league for a massive haul.
