The misbalance of talent from RW to LW is laughable and the goaltending depth here is even worse.

Doughy at 7m plus two 1m players cost 9m. Better value having 3.5m Kerfoot 1.5m Dermot and 2m Holl for 7m and still have 2m to spend elseswhere.

Every month or two this trade pops up, and I think it's just an opportunity for Leaf's fans to bash Doughty as a bad player. No Kings fan in the world wants to retain that much for that long. Let's say the Kings need to buy out Doughty, in a few seasons (2022-23) it's actually cheaper long term to buy him out than do this trade. Let's at least attempt to think of this from the other team's side.

Doughty had a really good year in my opinion. He’s still a very good d man. A bunch of junk isn’t going to get him when the kings have to eat 24 million dollars.
