You just dont get it. Its only good to get really good players if you can steal them for stuff you werent gonna use anyways. Its just good business.

I’ve seen a ton of Eichel trade proposals and with the new regime in NY they are absolutely gonna try and make a blockbuster deal and they have the pieces. As a Sabres fanatic who also really likes Jack the deal that makes sense and also hurts probably goes a little like:
Kappo (AL is preferred but can’t see him in it but I’ll still hope! Lol)
Then one of K Miller or the the right shot Swede lundkvist - Buffalos choice here
Then Chytil or Kravotsov. I’d again assume Buffalos choice
Then a first in one of the next 2 drafts.
- if we don’t want the first I could see Grigio or Strome (more for the money piece)

That’s 4 first round picks. The only negative for Buffalo is none are really high end Center prospects.

Kakko is over rated and we dont need any of the Dmen. If this isnt the return or similar, no deal

But legit for real tho, there’s just no change we trade laf he’s gonna be with us for a long time and his personality, work ethic and skill are just something.

Thats a pretty good haul honestly. The center thing isnt a deal breaker for me, we probably have a look at beniers this draft, plus if eichel goes our own first next year will likely be in "franchise center" country. Maybe none of those options are as good as eichel, but if the center options look like- reinhart, cozens, mittelstadt, beniers, chytl, and a 22 first that is likely a lottery pick- at least the group as a whole is decent. On top of that you add kakko and kandre miller or lundkvist on d plus a (mid?) First in a good 22 draft. I can see this working out for both teams.

Yeah I’d rather the Rangers keep our pieces and develop than do something dumb like this. Guaranteed if we add Eichel we will suck and never win. The cap will prevent us from having the depth to get to the playoffs or win. I’d rather Eichel retire from hockey or go somewhere else than screw up my franchise.

Defense is the easiest position to fix. They need to get as many goal scorers as they can then they can move the rest of their prospects for their d needs. Getting a bunch of meh centers so they can get a good dman isnt a good trade off, d men are a dime a dozen. NY is going to be forced to move some of theirs anyway, dont need Eichel to pick one off

While eichel is currently better, it makes no sense for them to flip Lafreniere, a 19 year old rookie who was the best projected prospect since McDavid. Say what you want, Laf+ should not be used. Lafreniere should not be in Eichel talks at all. It would be insane for the rangers to try and move on from him already

Rangers dont have what it takes for Eichel without Laf, rangers cant afford Laf with Eichel. Its the only way it will work

OR... they have Kakko, Zibenejad, Strome, etc. Eichel has a bit of a lower value now anyways due to him wanting out. Buffalo doesn't really have leverage. And if it only takes Laf, then the rangers should just not bother because it's not worth it for them to be moving Laf+. Lafreniere is a player with a very high ceiling, Chytil has top 6 potential as well, and Strome has been good. Eichels 10M is a lot to bring in as well, it's a lot for NY to move for one player

No actually I didn't. Lafreniere dominated Jr and was hyped to be the best prospect since McDavid/Matthews. And with the skill set he has, he is going to be phenomenal
