I could see one of those cities getting a team for sure.
It's an interesting point though. With the popularity of NHL hockey increasing year after year, you gotta think the league will eventually expand to 34 teams. A lot can happen in 5 years, which I think is about the soonest we'll see an expansion, and maybe the CAD is stronger at that point and Quebec or Greater Toronto gets a team to go along with a bigger US city.
BREAKING: Sounds like the Canes are working on an extension for Brind'Amour. Some sources tell me that he has been signed, but I have not found anything official yet.

If he leaves its a huge loss for the Canes, he'd be called a million times if he hit the market
Sadly Dundon has no heart. He's already let Forslund and Chuck Kaiton walk, so I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens with Brind'Amour. It would be huge news if we get him signed though. If not, he's going straight to Seattle with his old friend Francis.

Friedman says that it’s very likely that Brind’Amour returns at a number considerably below market value, he’s just waiting for extensions for the rest of his staff to get worked out before he signs his contract.
It'll be nice to see him back. Hopefully he can get to playoff shape in the next week or so, or else they'll be riding Campbell through the playoffs which I don't think will get them very far. It's a great story with how Campbell just completely broke out into a starter, but we all know he's gonna crack at some point.
